„Metamorphosis“ im Kunstkabinett Bad Soden am Taunus, 2.-17.August 2025
Visual discovery is a central focus of Lilo Mangelsdorff’s photographic work. These are often mundane, everyday objects visible to everyone—subjective impressions of urban nature. She intuitively isolates them photographically from their surroundings, giving them a new, poetic expressiveness shaped by light and shadow.
An imaginary dialogue with trees along the roadside. The plane tree, as an unconscious artist, fascinates with the varied shapes and colors of its bark. The plane tree “sheds its skin” in order to grow. A transformation takes place; as the bark peels away, a multitude of shapes and colors emerge. Lilo Mangelsdorff explores these metamorphoses into abstract, painterly works of art created by nature through her camera, using them to create her own visual worlds.
Visuelles Entdecken ist ein Schwerpunkt der fotografischen Arbeit von Lilo Mangelsdorff. Es sind häufig banale, alltägliche, für jeden sichtbare Dinge, subjektive Eindrücke in städtischer Natur. Sie werden intuitiv aus ihrer Umgebung fotografisch herausgelöst und finden zu neuer, poetischer Ausdruckskraft, geformt durch Licht und Schatten.
Ein imaginärer Dialog mit Bäumen am Straßenrand. Die Platane als unbewußte Künstlerin fasziniert durch variantenreiche Formen und Farben ihrer Rinde. Die Platane „häutet“ sich, um wachsen zu können. Es findet eine Umwandlung statt, durch das Abblättern der Borke bilden sich mannigfache Formen und Farben. Diese Metamorphosen hin zu abstrakten, malerischen Kunstwerken der Natur erkundet Lilo Mangelsdorff mit der Kamera und schafft daraus eigene Bildwelten.
